Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Tucked away from the hustle this subterranean eatery surprised me. IMHO the difference between good & great is subtle & I personally think overlooked; these things include presentation, temperature & pre-handling. I felt Umami checked all the right boxes & delivered a top shelf product. Aside from sushi their steak was handled in similar fashion. In short I was impressed and you might be too.

All the foods were really delicious I loved the spicy tuna rice cracker the rice was really crispy and it was really fresh! Overall all the small plates were good. The steak sauces were really good, both the wagyu and porter steak were cooked well, the porter steak was served at the table, adding the sauce and slicing it which was fun. Overall we enjoyed the food a lot and recommend this place. The prices are also really good particularly the quality of the food was really good.

Had an unbelievably great meal! The sushi was the best we've had! The steak was amazing and cooked perfectly! We will definitely be going back!

I tried their Omakase in a group setting, we had a private room and shared plates, so it was a bit different from the smaller group experience. I believe they take reservations for Omakase only. You can also order from their regular ร  la carte menu as well. Out of all the dishes, the most memorable ones for me were the fish liver since itโ€™s not a common ingredient, and the mini squids, both of which were delicious. Other than those, I think most of what we had are also available on the regular menu. The chef also came out to prepare hand rolls for us in person, making sure the seaweed stay ed crisp and fresh as we ate.
